Save $400 on Sony PS3 & HDTV package

Sony PlayStation 3 60GB System

$400 total savings on Sony PS3 and HDTV package

Save $400 on a PS3, HDTV, a Blu-ray movie and a PS3 game. Best Buy is promoting this as $400 total savings, but you also save an additional $200 on the HDTV, so your total savings is actually $600. A pretty good deal if you don’t already have a PS3.

If you haven’t heard, the latest PS3 system update added the ability to upscale PlayStation 1 games, PlayStation 2 games and DVDs to HD resolution (1080p/1080i/720p). Why is this important? Because one of the early complaints of the PS3 was that it wouldn’t upscale older PS games and DVDs. Now you can play all your old PlayStation 1 and 2 games (and all your old DVDs) in HD (which will make them look much better than on a PS2, PS1 or a regular DVD player). So all those holding out on getting a PS3 because it didn’t upscale to HD don’t have any excuses left!
